Although we know that all 3 events are in the evening, I do not have the times that we are supposed to be there yet.
Thursday, September 23rd
Friday, September 24th
Monday, September 27th
The event on 9/27 is a Political Conference and is subject to high security. Pending on the ticket sales, more slots maybe opened at a later date. At this time, you can sign up for 1 slot per cheerleader. The sign up sheets are now in the Germain book. Please make sure you leave a good "can be reached" phone number for confirmation purposes.

Hi,
Here are the minutes from last night's meeting.
Paradise Booster Club Meeting 8/11/10; 6:37 pm
Attendance: Perla Haskew, Patty DeFilippi, Theresa Guerrieri, Tara Russell, April Bailey, Pat Sutton, Mary Haw, Jackie Hackworth, Kim Manning, Colleen Walters,
Lillian Amand, Myriam Mellen, Yaidith Garciga, Julio Bouza Margaret G., Linda VanTassel, Mandy Rice, Christi Llanes. (apologies for spelling, I went off the sign in sheet).
1. Perla started the meeting discussing Germain; in summary:
- PARADISE ON ICE this is a very special day. Our Cheerleaders will be performing before the opening day hockey game.
- cheerleaders will be singing the national anthem
- tickets must be purchased to enter the arena
- ticket prices are $15.00 (these are $25.00 seats)
- when we sell 300 tickets we will make $8 per ticket sold ( profit of $2400.00 can be made):)
- this event will be advertised, by Germain, as a Paradise fund raising event
- Paradise Booster Club will have a booth, with canning, inside the arena concession area
- tickets will be sold from September 1 - October 8
- tickets can be purchased after Oct. 8 (your decline is because we want to ensure that we can tell Germain we sold 300 tickets)
- we would like to get our own section at the arena, selling at least 300 tickets will ensure this:)
The money raised from this event will go into the Booster Club general fund. The money in this fund is used for special events such as, the end of the year party,
sleep over at the gym.
2. Perla also discussed working at Germain, in the Paradise concession booth. You can email Perla with any questions.
- Perla works hard to get everyone the hours they need. Sometimes the decision about who gets to work is not hers to make. Germain has and will
continue to, at times, tell Perla who they want in the concession booth.
- Perla tries to get every weekend at Germain with the exception of competition weekends.
- If you are scheduled to work please; be on time, wear appropriate clothes (no heels, black hat, paradise shirt with NO BODY PARTS HANGING OUT, closed toed shoes
and jeans)
- you or your family may not at anytime go see the event at Germain, unless you purchased tickets to the event
- if you bring extra people they do not get a cut of the profit.
- 1 slot for every cheerleader
- ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 11 ALLOWED IN THE BOOTH
- no one under the age of 18 may serve alcohol
- 10 days and out for an event the rule is 1 slot per cheerleader
- less than 10 days the rule is sign up as many people as you want ( as long as there are slots open)
- remember 2 strikes and your out
- last year the profit for Germain was over $32,000.00
3. Otis Spunkmeyer cookie fund raiser will begin Oct 14 and end Oct 30. This can be very profitable if you want it to be. You will receive $6 back for every tub
of cookies sold
4. Our candle and Christmas Wreath fun raiser will begin right after the cookie fund raiser, Nov 1 - Nov 12. This is a 50% profit for both fund raisers
5. Pizza Hut all year fund raiser will begin shortly. I will email everyone as soon as I receive the cards. You receive $6 back for every $10 card sold
6. Our biggest event will be our Casino/Silent Auction night. Dates and place TBA. The auction baskets are made by you (profit from your baskets go into your acct.)
You can get the donation letter from the Paradise web site. Start now to ask vendors for donations. I have a lot of experience putting together baskets, if you need help
please ask.
Once again thank you to everyone who attended. The Paradise Booster Club is just that a Booster for our teams. We can show just as much team spirit by helping one another, being nice to every child and parent in our facility and by letting the coaches do their job. We have a team of wonderful coaches and I hope that you get a chance to thank them for all the hard work and love they show our kids. Have a great day:)
Theresa Guerrieri
Paradise Booster Club President
Parents & Cheerleaders,
The car wash ticket sales for Downtowner Car Wash will continue through out the season (there are no expiration dates on these tickets). So far I have given out 300 tickets and out of the 300 tickets, we have received money $$$$ for 154 tickets.. That's $1540.00 dollars raised with $770.00 going into cheerleaders accounts. (Nice job folks!) This is an easy fundraiser. You sell a car wash ticket for $10 (valued at $18), $5 goes to you and $5 goes to Downtowner car wash.
Many of you have asked for more tickets. The owner, Troy, had 600 tickets made for us and I've already passed out the first 300 he gave me. I would be more then happy to request the remaining tickets he has left but I want to make sure that we turn in the ones we currently have outstanding before I do that. So if you have sold your tickets then please turn in your money to me or Patti. If you haven't sold your tickets and do not intend on particpating in this fundraiser, then please return your tickets to me so that I can give them to parents who are requesting more. Once we have collected the majority of the outstanding tickets (146), then I will go ahead and ask him for the remaining 300.
We will be having a silent auction again... These tickets would be great to raffle off in a basket. They also make great stocking stuffers at Christmas time.. JUST SAYIN!!

Germain Arena Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and Acknowledgment Statement
What is Germain Arena?
Germain Arena is home to the Florida Everblades hockey team and the Florida Wildcats arena football team. The arena hosts also hosts other events including concerts, wrestling events, the circus and much more. Attached is the link to Germain Arena. It provides you with history of the arena, as well as the location, schedule, guest services, etc…..
What we do at Germain Arena?
Germain Arena has a number of concession stands and booths that are open during venue events. The concession stands and booths are staffed by various youth and sport organizations from around southwest Florida. We perform a number of activities in the booths including running cash registers, serving food, cooking and cleaning. Paradise is normally assigned one or two booths to work during dates that don’t conflict with our competitions and related travel. The booths require 12 – 16 people in total. The families working the events share in the booth tips and a percentage of the food sales.
Scheduling:
Every month a schedule is provided by Germain and we choose which events we are able to work. Once these are chosen, sign-up sheets will be placed in the gym. Cheerleaders can not work on a scheduled practice night. Parents, cheerleaders, other family members and friends may work the event. You must be 13 years old to work, 16 years old to run a register, and 18 years old to serve beer.
Missing Dates Committed to Work:
Germain and the other Paradise families are counting on you. All families/cheerleaders who signed up to work an event will be contacted by a Paradise booster member to confirm the schedule several days before the Germain event. If for any reason you cannot work the event once confirmed, please contact Cathy Baker immediately (cell 980-0914; home 561-6585) so she can arrange a replacement and let the group leaders (the Paradise parents assigned to lead the volunteers each night we work a booth) know. If you sign up but do not show more than two (2) times you will no longer have the opportunity to work at Germain Arena. Paradise must provide a certain number of workers per Germain guidelines and our inability to ensure this number shows up will jeopardize our continued fundraising position with Germain.
Payment from Germain Arena:
The families earn two types of fundraising monies. The first is the nightly tips earned by the booth. The tips are handed out to each family at the end of the night and have historically averaged anywhere between $5 and $20 per family, per night. We also make approximately 8% of food/beverage sales, with a potential for a 2% bonus (bonus based on a formula that includes several profit, inventory, shortage and waste factors). The food sales’ profit check is received the 15th of the following month from Germain. The historical average family profit ranges between approximately $30 and $70 per night.
Payment to Cheerleaders Account:
The Germain food sales’ profit check is initially received and deposited by the Paradise Booster Club (PBC). The PBC will then allocate the nightly food sales’ profit equally to the families represented at each event. A check is then written from the PBC to Paradise All Star Cheer for credit to the cheerleader’s account. The Germain fundraising monies normally shows up on your gym account 30 – 45 days from the date worked.
Dress Code:
You will be required to wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and a Paradise shirt or Paradise colors. During the hockey games it can be very cold. You may want to bring a sweater or jacket. Long hair must be pulled up. Men are welcome to wear a hat.
Arrival Time:
We should always arrive at least two hours prior to the event start time, since we typically open the stand an hour before the event starts. As a general rule, Germain opens the Arena doors one hour before the event is scheduled to start. Therefore, we need to be there an hour before the doors open to prepare the booth. As an example, we need to be at Germain at 5:30 p.m. for a hockey game that starts at 7:30 p.m.. Times will be posted on the sign-up sheets for your convenience.
Parking:
You should park on the south side of the arena that faces I-75. When entering the parking area you should let the parking attendants know that you’ll be working the concession stand with Paradise All Stars so you don’t have to pay for parking.
Entrance:
We enter the building through the double gray doors marked “Employee Entrance”. Once in the building, you’ll see Germain sign-in sheets. Sign the Paradise sheet and proceed to the booth number noted.
Serving Beer:
Only those 18 or older can serve beer. Everyone MUST be carded and MUST be of legal age to purchase beer. We may sell only two (2) beers per ID. If the customer appears to be intoxicated, we can refuse to sell them beer. If a problem should arise there is security on site.
Discounts:
Booth workers are entitled to food discounts. Always have someone else ring in your sale. Germain workers that present their badge and police officers also receive the discount.
Set up Procedures:
Sign in on OUR booth sign-in sheet (this is in addition to the Germain sheet you signed when you entered the Arena) to make sure you receive the proper credit. Once everyone has arrived, the designated Paradise booth leaders (normally we have two) we will have a brief team meeting to assign work positions for that evening. Please remember we are a team and are representing Paradise All Star Cheer. We work together and all help out to ensure the Germain concession managers and the Germain event attendees have a positive interaction and impression of us.
***When working at Germain Arena we take an inventory count at the beginning and end of the event. We do not give plates, nacho plates, cups, cheese cups or fry boats away for any reason. We also keep all spoilage to be counted. We also keep a record of all discounted sales. Please note that each person is given a courtesy cup for drinks.
If you should have any questions regarding Germain, please feel free to contact Cathy Baker, Rose Ann Meyers, Mary Jane Rios, Michele Kenny or Denise Goss. We are always looking for new people to share in the Germain fundraising fun, so sign-up and we’ll “show you the ropes”.
